The Chronicles of Eldershaw was adapted by the Drill Hall’s Gregory Aitken. How closely did he collaborate with Stephen Edgar?
The actor and producer, Greg Aitken, saw the dramatic possibilities for Stephen Edgar’s book Eldershaw back in 2014. Stephen encouraged Greg to explore his award-winning narrative verse novel’s dramatic possibilities. Over the past year the poet has edited or made suggestions to at least a dozen drafts of The Chronicles of Eldershaw.
I was privileged to sit next to Greg Aitken at Sydney Tech and receive the benefit of his witticisms, which made the tedious task of learning more tolerable; Stephen Edgar and his humorous repartee was a welcome aspect, daily.

Greg always said: when he left school, he hoped to be ' A well educated Beach Bum'. Greg you've excelled, beyond your expectations, along with Stephen; we were privileged to benefit from you both, as our peers.
Perhaps , the King or Albo should award Peerages!
