Stephen
I was at STHS between 1964 and 1967 so remember some of those who finished in 1969. I looked up the site today after a couple of people had mentioned about reunions in other years and the article in Column 8 about the 1956 reunion and John Mason who I know though our sons sailing together. I came to STHS ex Arncliffe Public School which was a bit different than most. In the year ahead of me where two mates from Arncliffe , Ray Dean and Malcolm Kite. I was also mates with Paul Glanville so its disappointed to learn that he is now dead. My contact details are;
Geoff Lanham
Does anyone have any old class photos or year book from the 1964-1967 era. Mine didn’t survive some of the moves.

In the Matter of Our Mr Brookes - Sat, 16 Oct 2004
In 2004, this e-mail suddenly arrived from Mr Geoff Brookes:
G'day Stephen
Yes, Geoff Brookes is happy to be found. Jenny, my wife, found your web site through an ex-STHS student, Greg Dunstone.
I started at STHS in 1966, along with Reg Byrne and Bronwyn Marshall (who was on the English staff with Reg). Reg and I were great mates long after STHS, although I lost touch with him a few years ago. Keith Hurst was the Social Sciences master and, in addition to being a keen wielder of the cane, smoked Craven A cork tips through a revolting cigarette holder (he was almost on a par with Fin Cook with the fags).
I remember your year very well. I'll have to check back over my old mark books, but there were some good Commerce and Economics students in it and I recall at least one significant drinking event with some of them after the HSC.Maurice Cohen was one of them and I remember the beard referred to in the trivia quiz, which made him a truly fearsome sight.
The Class of 1969 were a great mob - good blokes who were great fun to teach. I'd be glad to have the chance to meet up with them again if you hold any more reunions.
Regards,
Geoff Brookes

Stephen,
It's late Monday night...every reunion has been terrific, this last one with the telegrams and balloons ...talk about wild and crazy..I doubt that I can cope with the distance of another 5 years before us guys get together again...geez....given the circumstances (and I'm talkin' big picture) it might be be good for us to meet annually...yep, one day of the year...suggest that we may need a set day and a set venue...it's an idea...probably somwewhere in the city where we can lob in ...no organisation ...too much...take care...it's an idea...we have sometin goin here...cheers...

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for organising last night’s reunion.
It’s the first one I’ve been to since the 10 year get-together back in 1979 in Sussex St, City, and I certainly enjoyed seeing all the familiar faces again.
Thanks.

Hello Stephen,
Thanks for your news and am glad the reunion was another successful one. I've read the email to Norman and he was very interested to see the photo - thank you for keeping him up to date.
Norman came home yesterday for a visit to take part in the AFL GF fun we have here each year. It was all a bit much and after a couple of hours (just before the game started) he wanted to be taken home. It really tired him and he was out of his comfort zone - but at least he had a bit of time with us. He said to me today he realized how he has deteriorated. He is, however happy and that is good.
Thanks again,
Jean Price
